Before you register
01Who can register with PTA?
Students preparing for the MDCAT, the admission test for medical and dental colleges in Pakistan. A student under 18 registers with his parent or guardian, who accepts the terms for him. At present PTA offers MDCAT preparation only; other examinations will be added later.
02Can I prepare for more than one examination at the same time?
At present PTA offers the MDCAT only. You hold one enrolment at a time, with one plan, one calendar and one set of tests.
03How is my payment confirmed?
Upload the payment screenshot with your transaction ID. Admin matches it against the bank statement and you are notified, usually within 24 hours.
04Can I use my account on more than one device?
Yes, one device at a time. Signing in on a new device logs you out of the previous one. Login credentials must not be shared; violating the terms leads to suspension of the account.
05What do I get for the MDCAT?
One plan, paid once, in full: 1 year, PKR 24,000, renewed a year at a time. You study four subjects at a time on PMDC's official curriculum: Biology, Chemistry and Physics every week, with English (weeks 1 to 16 and 29 to 36) or Logical Reasoning (weeks 17 to 28), and finish the syllabus in 36 weeks, with video lectures and notes for each topic; the weekly test (weeks 1 to 36) has 100 questions: 68 MCQs and 32 fill in the blanks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics; the monthly test and the full mocks are 180 MCQs, as in the real MDCAT; and the Diagnostic Test, the free trial test and practice also have fill in the blanks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (see the tests below). Your results are shown to you alone, with one exception: the leaderboard. If you are among the top 25 MDCAT candidates on PTA or in your district, your full name and district are shown to other MDCAT candidates. PTA sends no reports to parents.
The Diagnostic Test
T01What is the Diagnostic Test, and why must I sit it?
It is the one test every candidate sits once, when he joins. It measures your starting level: each subject and each skill is shown as Strong, Developing or Weak, and your dashboard then suggests practice on your weak areas.
It is not a pass or fail test and does not count towards your mastery.
T02How is it set, and when must I sit it?
Online only: 100 questions in 100 minutes, in the MDCAT's own subject shares (Biology 45, Chemistry 25, Physics 20, English 5, Logical Reasoning 5): 68 MCQs and 32 fill in the blanks (Biology 16, Chemistry 9, Physics 7), where you type the missing word or number; marked at once; no negative marking; one attempt. Submit it by 11:59 pm on the 7th day of your activation (the day of activation is day 1); if you do not, it expires and you begin without a diagnostic result.
T03When does my week 1 open?
MDCAT 2027 runs on one calendar: week 1 opens for everyone on Monday 16 November 2026, 5:00 am. If you finish your Diagnostic Test before then, your dashboard shows the date. If you join after 16 November, your own week 1 opens the moment you submit it, unless you ask to catch up (see below).
The weekly tests
T04How does the weekly test work?
It opens at 5:00 pm on Friday and closes at 11:59 pm on the Monday after; start any time in between. It has 100 questions in 100 minutes (68 MCQs and 32 fill in the blanks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics), in the MDCAT's subject shares, shared among the weeks you have studied so far, with at least 30% on your current week. On earlier weeks, the questions come first from the skills where you are still weak or developing.
One attempt only, and the clock cannot be paused once you start. No negative marking: a wrong or skipped answer scores zero. Your score shows as soon as you submit.
T05What is a practice session?
Extra practice, any time, on any week already opened: MCQs, and fill in the blanks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, that adapt to your level (two right in a row moves you up, one wrong moves you down). No negative marking and no limit on attempts. Practice is for learning: it does not count towards your mastery or the leaderboard.
Full mocks
T06What is a full mock, and when is it held?
A full rehearsal of the MDCAT: 180 MCQs in 3 hours, in the paper's subject shares (Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9, Logical Reasoning 9). Every fourth weekly test (weeks 4, 8 … 36) is a full mock, on the weeks you have studied; from week 37 every week is revision and review with a full mock on the whole syllabus, until your subscription ends. Each is open from 5:00 pm on Friday to 11:59 pm on the Monday after, and runs its full 3 hours once started.
Marking, results and the leaderboard
T07Is there negative marking?
No. PTA has a No Negative Marking Rule: no PTA test deducts marks for a wrong answer. A wrong or skipped answer scores zero, in every test.
T08When do I get my results?
Every MDCAT test is on screen and scored the moment you submit, with your percentile: the share of the others who sat the same test that you scored above.
T09What is the leaderboard?
After every weekly test, monthly test and full mock, PTA averages your percentiles into one figure; a missed test counts as 0. After 3 tests you join two boards: all of PTA, and your own district. Each shows the top 25 by full name and district, and your own position. The free trial test, the Diagnostic Test and practice do not count.
T10What happens if I miss a test or score low?
A missed test scores zero and shows as Absent on your record and in your attendance; it does not change your mastery, which measures what you know. Your next week still opens on Monday, whatever you scored, and earlier weeks stay open for revision.
Your MDCAT year
T11I am preparing for the MDCAT. Which tests do I sit?
All on screen and online, marked at once; MCQs, with fill in the blanks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics in the weekly test, the Diagnostic Test, the free trial test and practice; the monthly test and full mocks are MCQs only:
- Diagnostic Test: once, when you join; online only, one part: 100 questions in 100 minutes (68 MCQs and 32 fill in the blanks), across the five subjects in the MDCAT's own proportions.
- Weekly test (weeks 1 to 36): 100 questions in 100 minutes (68 MCQs and 32 fill in the blanks), in the MDCAT's subject shares, open from 5:00 pm on Friday to 11:59 pm on the Monday after; one attempt.
- Monthly test (weeks 4, 8 … 36): every fourth weekly test is a full mock: 180 questions in 3 hours on the weeks you have studied, in the same Friday-to-Monday window.
- Full mocks: every week from week 37 until your subscription ends, in place of the weekly test: 180 questions in 3 hours in the MDCAT's subject shares (Biology 81, Chemistry 45, Physics 36, English 9, Logical Reasoning 9), open from 5:00 pm on Friday to 11:59 pm on the Monday after. Four subjects are studied at a time (Biology, Chemistry and Physics every week, with English or Logical Reasoning), so the whole syllabus is finished by week 36. For MDCAT 2027, week 1 opens on Monday 16 November 2026 and week 36 ends on Sunday 25 July 2027; from week 37 every week is revision and review, with a full mock.
- Practice: any time, MCQs and fill in the blanks (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), on the weeks already opened.
No negative marking, as in the real MDCAT; full mocks follow its subject shares and its 3 hours. There are no written papers, no centre sittings and nothing to upload.
T12I am joining late. Can I still finish the MDCAT syllabus before MDCAT 2027?
Yes, if you choose to. Write to PTA's support email by 31 May 2027 and ask for your closed weeks to be opened. Your calendar is then counted from 16 November 2026: the weeks up to now open at once, one more opens each Monday, and you finish the syllabus by 25 July 2027. Your subscription then ends on the date it would have if you had begun on 16 November 2026, and no fee is refunded for the shorter period. The tests whose time had passed become your catch-up tests: when you have studied a week, tick "I have studied the material of this week" and sit its test, in week order, until 25 July 2027. They count like any test; one not sat by then counts as missed (0). This is for MDCAT 2027 only.
T13Can I try PTA before I pay?
Yes, for the MDCAT. Create your account and choose MDCAT, and you can sit one free trial test before you pay: 20 questions from Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English and Logical Reasoning, in 20 minutes: 14 MCQs and 6 fill in the blanks (Biology 2, Chemistry 2, Physics 2). You see your score and how you did in each subject. It is free, it is offered once, and it does not commit you to a plan.
Nothing matches that. Try another word, or message us on WhatsApp.
PTA prepares and tests you. It does not guarantee admission, a pass or any result in the real MDCAT.
Still curious? Try it.
The free trial test answers the biggest question of all: where do you stand right now?
